- At an increasing rate, our world is undergoing radical and disruptive changes. We face challenges that are insurmountable by any one individual or organisation, but collectively we have an opportunity to make a real difference and reverse negative global trends before it’s too late. Climate change, environmental degradation, resource depletion, migration, injustice, and poverty are just a few of the issues that will need to be addressed. We believe that everyone bears responsibility, and that we must all work together to ensure a sustainable future. To invest in the future, ODOS works in accordance with the UN’s Global Goals and Agenda 2030.
Our Environmental Responsibility
Being an environmentally responsible company means ensuring our operations do not have a long-term negative impact on the planet and its natural resources, and implementing sustainable practices. ODOS is committed to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable practices in all aspects of our business operations. Our company takes a responsible approach to managing the transition in a structured and consistent manner.
We lower emissions
ODOS is focused on reducing emissions and promoting sustainable practices in all aspects of its operations.
Our goal is to save energy in every way possible, using renewable energy in all of our company buildings and implementing energy- efficient technologies and practices in our operations. This includes using energy efficient lightning and equipment, and conducting regular energy audits.
In order to aid in the smooth transition to a low-carbon economy, ODOS products are used by customers to achieve the optimal running of their machines:
30% of customers are developing alternative-fuel products to reduce fuel consumption and emissions from their diesel engines and drive the development of their new products to Net Zero.
65% of customers are developing battery-electric machines and zero emission technology
We support environmental preservation
ODOS does not believe in climate compensation, but we do believe in climate investment. We invest in the planting of new trees and the creation of fresh water for our Kenyan partner village, Mutomo, for every device manufactured.
We invest in quality
ODOS does not develop disposable products. We aim for the best quality and products that endure in harsh environmental conditions for a long time. Hence, ODOS conducts environmental and durability testing on all devices. This minimizes the risk for warranty, insurance and damage claims. Testing throughout the product development lifecycle also helps to ensure quality at release.
Our products which monitor various systems in machines are designed to help improve the longevity, efficiency and safety of vehicle fleets traveling over land, sea, and air, ultimately reducing their environmental impact.
We are transparent about our products and materials
In the production of our products, we use ABS plastic, aluminium, and stainless steel high-grade materials.
ABS plastic is a durable and lightweight material that is easily recyclable, which helps reduce waste and conserve resources.
Aluminium is a highly sustainable material that can be recycled multiple times without losing its strength or quality, thus conserving resources and reducing waste.
Stainless steel high-grade materials are durable and long- lasting, which reduces the need for frequent replacements and the associated environmental impact.
